The 'Friends of 88 Society' will be hosting a bottle drive in support of the local 88 Airdrie Lynx Air Cadet Squadron.

Normally, this bottle drive goes door to door through various neighborhoods in the city asking residents if they have any bottles to spare for the cause, but the COVID-19 pandemic has shifted the bottle drive to a more in-one-place event.

The organizing of the bottle drive is being done by parent volunteers, who initiated the fundraiser on their own. All funds collected will go to support the operating costs of the local squadron.

Airdronians can find the parent volunteers set up in the Real Canadian Superstore parking lot on Saturday, April 24 from 9:00am till 3:00pm.

The annual bottle drive isn't the only part of Air Cadet's routine that the pandemic has thrown a wrench in. In-person meetings and parades have been moved into an entirely virtual world. The funds from this bottle drive will go towards helping the squadron transition into a more like-before routine.
