Banff National Park has issued an area closure for what officials are saying is an 'Environmentally Sensitive Site'. The closure will last till the end of October.

The closure is impacting a portion of the Fairholme Range, encompassing north and west of Johnson Lake and continuing east along the Fairholme Bench to the first drainage east of Johnson Lake.

"Johnson Lake and all designated trails in the vicinity of Johnson Lake remain open," the advisory stated.

According to Parks Canada, the closure is due to wildlife activity in the area, which cannot be disturbed by human presence.
