Another night, another win for an area cowboy at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

The second performance turned into a way better one that the opening night for Cochrane's Tanner Milan.  After finishing out of the money on the first night, Milan, a two-time Canadian steer wrestling champion, rolled his steer in 3.5 seconds to take first place on the night and pick up a cheque for $26,230.  The best part is, that's U.S. money!

It was Milan's first ever go-round win in two appearances at the NFR and moved him up three places to fifth overall in the world standings.

Following his first performance win in bareback, Airdrie's Jake Vold had a frown on his face after his first ride on night two when he only scored 77 points.  The judges however granted Vold a re-ride and he made the most of that ride on a horse named Hollywood Hills by scoring 87 points.

That put Vold into a 3/4 split for the round and earned him $13,326.  He couldn't gain any more ground on bareback leader Tim O'Connell who equaled Vold's score of 87.

After two nights, Vold leads the NFR average with 174.5 on two head.  O'Connell sits second and another Canadian, Manitoba's Orin Larsen is in third place.
