The Alberta Federation of Agriculture is holding its first annual general meeting since implementing significant organizational changes in 2013.

This year’s theme is “Change - Challenge  - Opportunity”.

Last May, the group's name changed from Wild Rose Agricultural Producers to more appropriately capture the diversity of its membership.

Commodity groups, not-for profit agricultural organizations, agri-businesses and non-voting patrons are now eligible for membership in addition to producers.

Alberta farmers and agricultural industry leaders from across the country will convene to review policy and developments on a range of issues important to the agricultural sector.

Agenda highlights include presentations by Jack Wilkinson, former president of the International Federation of Agricultural Producers; J.P. Gervais, chief agricultural economist for Farm Credit Canada; and Ton Bonnett, president of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture.

It goes at the Banff Park Lodge with registration starting Monday and the meetings go Tuesday and Wednesday.
