10-year-old Airdronian Sutton Wright is taking the next steps when it comes to being a designer.

In June, she will be showcasing some of her new designs while also modelling at Canada International Fashion Week in Lethbridge on June 8.

This past weekend Wright and her mother, Nicole Kelly, went to Lethbridge to meet those who will be modelling for her and had a dress rehearsal.

Wright talked about what her inspiration was for this line of clothing of 3D floral outfits.

"The outfits are inspired by Taylor Swift's latest album and tour (the Eras Tour). I wanted to make outfits for her album that fit the theme."

According to Wright, this collection has a lot more colours to it, compared to the collection she debuted in New York. One goal was to also make the outfits more suitable for kids.

Wright hopes the kids modelling her clothes will have a fun time doing it while feeling confident.

"They're the cutest thing you'll ever meet. I just love them so much."

This will be Wright's first Canadian production and show.

"I'm just so proud of Sutton that she's willing to work hard and go for what she wants. She is a very ambitious young lady, she just recently won her first rodeo belt buckle," stated Kelly.

Wright's love for modeling started at a young age, (even though she is only 10). At 18 months old, she started in local pageantry. At five years old in 2019, she was named Little Miss Calgary (she was the youngest ever to win the title).

More recently (while still modelling), Wright has started designing clothes to be showcased at big events.

"I always thought it was cool designing clothes and eventually I started sewing."

This is the second time Wright will be showcasing her designs, the first time was last year at New York Fashion Week.
