Canada has won it's third straight Spengler Cup hockey tournament and Airdrie's Zach Boychuk, despite playing only three games in the tournament, was a key part of the victory.

Boychuk scored his third goal in three tournament games in the second period and it turned out to be the winner as Canada went on to a 3 - 0 victory over Switzerland.

Boychuk also scored in his two previous games after being called up to the team.

Goaltender Kevin Poulin made 36 saves to get the shutout.

Cochrane's Mason Raymond also played for Canada at the tournament.  It's the 15th time that Canada has captured the Spengler Cup.

Hockey Canada was using the tournament to evaluate potential candidates for the Olympic team whose roster will be announced next month,
