With the season just around the corner, Airdrie Minor Basketball Association has put out a call for coaches.

"We start mid-September and we go until the end of February" said Lori Ann De Bokx with AMBA. "Sometimes if there's teams that are advancing on to Provincials they play into the first week of March."

AMBA is looking for head coaches and assistant coaches for Midget and Bantam boys teams. De Bokx said if you want to coach, you can expect only a slight time commitment.

"We have two, one and a half hour practices per week for these age groups, and one game per week. You're looking at three and a half hours of practice plus one hour for a game."

According to De Bokx, coaching can be quite rewarding.

"This is a great opportunity to get involved with the community and with the kids, and help encourage and keep them engaged in a wonderful sport."

Anyone interested in coaching can email registrar@airdriebasketball.ca.
