Airdrie Meals on Wheels has its next fundraiser underway, and all you have to do is watch some wrestling! 

Lois Jones, the Media and Public Relations for the Airdrie Meals on Wheels talks about the upcoming fundraiser. 

“We have partnered with Can-Am Wrestling out of Calgary professional, live wrestling events that are being put on basically throughout southern Alberta. And we realize that the struggle for nutritious meals for some people is a reality. And we thought it would be a really good partnership to kind of flam that struggle and a unique event that brings families out.” 

All money raised through fundraising efforts will go to the food costs, and that helps keep the meal subsidized cost at an affordable rate for their clients. 

“Airdrie Meals on Wheels has existed for 39 years, it's an integral part of our community. There are many people that are afraid to ask for help. There are many people that need help. And we offer that service for people that may struggle in one-way shape or form without any kind of discrimination.” 

According to Jones, they help seniors stay in their homes longer with some independence there so the meals come prepared. They just have to warm them up.
