After two games in the regular season, the Airdrie Irish of the Alberta Football League are 2-0.

So far this season, the Irish have taken on the Central Alberta Buccaneers in week one, where the Irish were able to come home with a 25-20 win. This past weekend, the Irish started up a winning streak after beating Peace County 29-15.

Josh Williams, the President, Offensive Coordinator and Quarterback of the team talked about the game this past weekend.

"We didn't perform up to our potential. I think we did play down to our opponents. But eventually, we overcame some adversity, and we started to pick it up. So we're looking forward to having full 60 minutes of our game and then showing the calibre of team that we are."

With that being said he is happy with the outcome of the game.

"We're happy with the wins. But we do have a mentality that the way that we win also matters. We want to be very diligent in our practice and show that we're a higher calibre team than what we displayed in those two games."

Next up on the schedule is a game against the Cold Lake Fighter Jets, who are the defending League Champions.

"We prepare every week to go into battle. As I said, we haven't really shown the league, the type of team we are. So, we're excited to go and do that this week."

Williams also talked about how as a team they work really hard to make sure they can go 1-0 every week, with a goal of getting back to the championship game this year.
