Airdrie's Austin Cameron and the Fort McMurray Oil Barons are off to a strong start in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL).

The boys are not only undefeated in their first two regular season games, but have yet to allow a goal against in those matches.

"It's definitely an awesome thing to be a part of with the whole community and stuff like that, we've been playing really good, we're a big physical team, and also lots of speed as well, which is definitely something we're going to take forward." said Cameron.

The success of the Oil Barons also brings it's challenges for the 19-year-old, who is looking to solidify his spot as a top line defenseman in the AJHL.

"We've got a really good team this year, so it's gonna be a tough d-core to crack," said Cameron, "That just comes with being on a winning team, with what we have now, I just gotta push through it I guess."

Cameron will get the chance to prove himself as he makes his season debut against the Bonnyville Pontiacs on Tuesday, Spetember 20th.
