Airdrie, Rocky View County, and provincial COVID numbers heading into the weekend.

In the past 24 hours, Alberta Health Services identified 412 new cases of COVID-19 from 8,673 tests. This brings the provincial total of active COVID-19 cases to 5,293 Yesterday, there were 5,384 active cases in Alberta.

There are now 496 Albertans in the hospital due to COVID-19 with 93 Albertans in intensive care. Yesterday, these numbers were 498 and 94 respectively. 

As for Alberta schools, there are active alerts or outbreaks in 174 schools. Of these, 4 schools are on outbreak status, including one school in Airdrie. To see a full list of Alberta school alerts or outbreaks CLICK HERE.

In the City of Airdrie, there are currently 79 active cases of COVID-19. This is the same number of active cases the city had yesterday.

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Rocky View County is 63. This number remains unchanged from yesterday. 

To date, the province has administered 6,772,885 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine with 88.2% of eligible Albertans having received one dose and 82.8% of eligible Albertans fully vaccinated with two doses. Health Canada has approved Pfizer vaccines for children aged 5 to 11 with shipments of the children-specific doses expected to arrive in Canada early next week.
