Advance Polls open this weekend for the 2015 federal election.

Open from 12:00 pm till 8:00 pm, residents can cast their ballots in advance from October 9th through 12th.

In order to vote you must bring ID and your Voter Information Card if you have one.

Elections Canada says Voter Information Cards were mailed last week and confirm that a resident is registered to vote in the election, along with directions as where they can cast their ballot.

Anyone that didn't receive their Voter Information Card is instructed to visit elections.ca to register or find a polling location, or they can contact Elections Canada by phone at 1-800-463-6868.

Even if you don't have a Voter Information Card voting is still possible, either on October 19th - election day, or during the Advance Polls.

The Advance Polls for Airdrie will be at the Airdrie Town and Country Centre, while the Advance Polls in Cochrane will be open at Frank Wills Memorial Hall.
