The Cochrane Generals are perfect after their first four games in the Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) season.

After consecutive road games last weekend, the Generals had their home opener Friday night against the visiting Blackfalds Wranglers.

"Blackfalds has been one of the top teams in the league for probably the last half a decade. We understood what we had to do," says Evan McFeeters, Head Coach of the Cochrane Generals.

Dating back to last season the Wranglers lost just four games all season, easily claiming the top spot in the league standings. McFeeters says his team's been confident since training camp, knowing they could contend for an HJHL title this season.

Corey Goeson lead the Generals to another victory Friday after netting 2 goals and adding an assist in a 4-3 game that saw Cochrane win off a powerplay goal in the final 3 minutes of the game.

Ty Robinson would backstop the Generals to their third straight victory, turning aside 26 shots in the contest.

McFeeters says the Generals quickly regrouped and prepared for the Okotoks Bisons - who swept the Generals our of the playoffs last season.

"We just carried on that good vibe in the dressing room and that energy and stuck to the gameplan for an entire 60 minute hockey game and only allowed them 20 shots on goal and again Ty was very solid in net and it was a very satisfying feeling this weekend after getting four points."

Robinson's performance over the weekend gave him the honour of HJHL Player of the Week as he lead the Generals to a 3-0 shutout victory over Okotoks. On the season Robinson is 4-0-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .950 save percentage, the best stats in the league for goalies playing more then one game.

"Ty Robinson in our opinion is the best goalie in the league," says McFeeters. "I think he's going to run with the chance to be the Cochrane Generals starting goalie this year, he's going to give us a lot of opportunities to win hockey games."

"It's his net and his crease, he gives our forwards and defenseman the biggest confidence boost in the world knowing that if they do make a mistake that it's not going to end up in the back of our net."

With back to back wins at home at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre, the Generals are the only undefeated team in the Southern Division while Didsbury's Mountainview Colts are 5-0 in the Northern Division.

The Generals hit the road this coming weekend as they take on the Medicine Hat Cubs on Friday before a matchup with the Strathmore Wheatland Kings on Saturday.
