Temperatures are looking to be above normal for Remembrance Day long weekend.

With Remembrance Day being this Saturday, many Airdronians will have Monday off to remember those who fought for our freedom, and the temperature for the upcoming three days is looking to be favourable.

According to Samantha Mauti, a Meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, temperatures will be above normal this long weekend.

"We may even see some double digits on Monday."

Seasonal temperatures this time of year for Airdrie are highs of two degrees.

"We're seeing highs around six or seven degrees for Saturday and Sunday, and then possibly 10 degrees for Monday."

Mouti stated we are not expecting any snow this weekend either.

Historically, we usually see snow on Remembrance Day but as of right now, it does look like we will get a year off.

After this weekend, we can expect temperatures to hold above normal for a few days before dropping back down close to zero degrees for daytime highs.
