Just five votes separated the three candidates that ran in a by-election to choose a new councillor for the Village of Cremona this week.

In a News Release, Christofer Atchison, Returning Officer for Mountain View County said, although the results won't be official until tomorrow (June 19) that Joseph Francis Canaday won the election by taking 38 of the votes cast to replace Councillor Bonnie Scribner, who resigned from Cremona council in March because of family reasons.

Heather Hutton finished second in the close race with 35 votes while Robert Foxwell Reid came third, just two votes behind Hutton.

The results will become official as of noon, Sunday, June 19th.
