Back in the fall, W.H. Croxford began ordering fidget cubes to help their students.

The cube is a six sided toy that has a variety of different buttons, switches and sliding mechanisms.

Jen Kozma, an Educational Assistant from Croxford says that these new fidget cubes provide support for students who are experiencing stress or trouble focusing.

"Some benefits are for anxiety, if something in the classroom is provoking anxiety for a student, it's a good way to release energy."

Kozma says that the cubes are very useful to help students block outside activity.

"Some students use it for attention, if they're struggling with keeping focused in class or on the assignments."

There are no requirements for handing out the fidget cubes, unless it's something that becomes distracting to the student, or it isn't helping them with anxiety or attention, then the school asks for it back.

Kozma says that they haven't experienced this problem so far.

Angela Spanier, Director of Communications for RVS, explained that all RVS schools use different methods to help their students concentrate.

"Fidget cubes are one specific item in an array of choices and strategies that teachers often offer students to build self-regulation and enhance learning."
