A 25-year-old man is facing eight charges after injuring members of the Airdrie RCMP with a vehicle.

Skyler Stevens-Rose of Calgary is facing numerous charges after a hit-and-run of a police officer and civilian early Saturday (December 1) morning.

The offences include:

  • Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer
  • Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm 
  • Fail to stop at the scene of an accident x 3
  • Flight causing Bodily Harm
  • Forcible Confinement x 3
  • Resist Arrest 
  • Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm
  • Operation of a motor vehicle while over 80 mg% causing bodily harm

RCMP members were conducting a traffic stop of vehicle at around 2:10 a.m. when it backed into the officers and drove off, injuring one of them. The officer who was injured in the hit-and-run is in stable condition, recovering from having surgery yesterday. The other member has an injured hand but does not need surgery at this time.

Three youth were also in the vehicle but it has been determined they have no involvement in the incident.
