It was a morning of celebration and recognition for 19 teachers at the Rocky View School Board meeting this week.

Each of the teachers was recognized for completing their Master's degree or some type of certificate that furthered their careers.

Not only were these teachers working full time, managing their family and personal time but they maintained the highest level of professionalism and dedication towards their students.

Each of the teachers had a letter of support written by their Principal that was read at the ceremony.

Three teachers from the Rocky View School Division were also nominated for the Edwin Parr Teacher Award. The award requires each of the nominees to be in their first year of teaching and demonstrate outstanding dedication and commitment to their students and school.

Dustin Whetton From Cochrane High School secured the Zone Five nomination.

According to excerpts from his nomination package " Although only just beginning his career as an educator, Dustin is masterful at meeting his students where they're at and creating the scaffolding required to get them to the next level in their learning. His professionalism, ability to work with others, creativity and positive outlook on the world has made him a key member of the Cochrane High school community. He inspires both his students and colleagues to be better on a daily basis. "
