Rocky View Schools held their final board meeting of the 2016 school year Thursday, June 16th.

The Board of Trustees took this opportunity to thank some of the divisions more outstanding members with this year's Recognition of Staff Excellence.

"Its an opportunity for Albertans to celebrate outstanding educators and the contributions they make to students learning." said Superintendant Don Hoium.

Twenty-nine RVS members recieved letters of recommendation, and praise from the Board of Trustees.

The board recognized the accomplishments of several staff members, who have carried on learning well into their professional careers.

"That's one of the things we try to instill in our students, is the whole concept of being a lifelong learner," said Trustee Bev LaPeare. "So when they see that modelling happening from their teachers and from the people in their school, that they're lifelong learners, its a great reflection on the kids."

Thursday's meeting also so the final Superintendants Report from Hoium, who is finishing up his last year with RVS before his retirement.
