With September being prostate awareness month, the Ride for Dad will be taking place once again.

The Ride for Dad has been around Calgary for 15 years. Motorcyclists gather for one large event that usually has around 200 to 600 riders but due to COVID-19, they have to keep it less then that.

They go on this ride to support Prostate Cancer Awareness month and raise around anywhere from 40-90 thousand dollars a year, so in total over the 15 years, they have raised around 1.5 million dollars. The funds go towards the prostate cancer center in Calgary to focus on research awareness and the Man Van.

David Saxby is the chair for the Calgary Ride for Dad. He was excited about the event that took place on Saturday (September 25th) and what towns they got to tour through.

“we're starting out at Ralph Motor Sports in Balsac. As you probably know already, and we're going to go up through Carstairs, Olds, Sundre, Cremona. Then we head up to Bragg Creek and wind up the ride at the Powderhorn Saloon. ”

The Ride for Dad saw around 40 riders show up for the event to help raise awareness for Prostate Cancer.
