With the increase in traffic over the long weekend, Airdrie's RCMP saw very little of the action.

Traffic violations remained level, with a total of 30 tickets being issued over all three days.

Cochrane RCMP saw a lot more traffic pass through that resulted in 36 tickets being issued in just one day.

Cpl. Glenn Odishaw, of the Airdrie RCMP, was happy to report that there were only two accidents that resulted in one minor injury.

Cochrane RCMP were not so lucky, responding to 20 collisions that lead to 4 individuals being taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Odishaw said that Airdrie received 3 reports of impaired drivers but officers were unable to locate the drivers.

Airdrie did not have any check stops set up over the weekend.

The only number that jumped above normal was the number of false alarms reported, which Odishaw believed to be a result of the severe storm on Saturday, July 30.
