This year Heighton Auto Restorations, Chris Heighton from Beiseker, won the prestigious 23rd Annual Jim Leslie Award Competition at the World of Wheels Show in Calgary.

Winning this award is quite the accomplishment because there are more than 250 antique, custom and muscle cars that are contenders.

"We've had cars in the World of Wheels every year since '82. We have won Six-Shooter Awards the last 8 years," Heighton said, "The Six-Shooter Award, meaning you're one of the top six cars of the whole show, and you have to win a Six-Shooter to qualify for the Jim Leslie Award."

The World of Wheels was held February 22-24th this year. It is one of the largest shows in the industry. It pays tribute to innovative workmanship, re-invention, modifications and improvements which improves vehicles of yesterday and today.

"There were some really nice cars there this year, I thought it was a very top quality show. Our competitors, which was five other cars, they were all top notch. I had my pick of who was going to win and it wasn't my car," Heighton said.

Heighton Auto Restorations has restored vehicles at his shop from the East Coast all the way to Prince George. The car that was restored that won the Jim Leslie Award was out of Calgary and owned by Jim Iuliani.

Heighton will not disappoint at the World of Wheels next year. He is working on one of his own projects and a very special baby that he is proud of.

"We've got a '64 Pontiac Catalina 421-4 speed car, convertible. Really rare and really nice car. I'm going to shoot to win again next year."

Heighton Auto Restorations is going to continue to restore cars and entering them into the World of Wheels Shows as long as they can.
