Dog lovers near Kings Heights will need to find somewhere else to take their furry friends for the next while.

Yesterday (June 26th), the City of Airdrie started installing a fence around the stormwater pond at the off-leash area in Kings Heights.

The City expects that the work will take at least two weeks and need to close the whole park while crews work.

The fence needs to be in place in order to protect pets from interaction with waterfowl and to prevent dogs from entering the stormwater pond.

You can find more info on the off-leash closure at the City of Airdrie’s website.
