A 16 year old girl was killed in a two vehicle collision near Beiseker last night (June 9).

Beiseker RCMP say they were called at 7:36 pm to a collision on Highway 21, approximately two kilometres norrth of the Highway 9 intersection where a southbound vehicle with three occupants collided with a northbound SUV with one occupant.  Initial reports are that extreme weather was occuring at the time of the collision, including heavy hail and rain.  A 16 year old female passenger was pronounced dead on the scene.

EMS determined a 67 year old woman needed the STARS air ambulance to transport her to a Calgary hospital.  Because of the weather, an alternate landing zone had to be set up for the helicopter and she was taken to hospital with potentially life threatening injuries.

A 43 year old woman was taken by ground to a Calgary hospital, while the driver of the SUV, a 58 year old woman was taken to hospital in Three Hills.

Traffic on Highway 21 was rerouted for a short time following the collision so an analyst could investigate.
