Fall can be a stressful time of year with children heading back to school and finances becoming a little bit strained.

For Airdrie residents, Community Links is prepared to support those who need help with anything from finances, to sports, to bullying.

Laurie Jacob-Towes, Community Development Services Manager with Community Links, said there is a new program this year for girls in grades 7-10.

"It's just going to help girls focus on their skills, what they're good at, and then how can they use their skills and go into school feeling very positive. Meet new people, maybe develop some new friendships and just have a very positive outlook going into the new school year, which can be intimidating for some people."

Community Links has also begun managing a program called the 'Airdrie Participant Support' program, which can help families who qualify.

"They can apply for passes that would allow them 50 per cent off at Genesis Place, also for Airdrie Transit. Through that, they can get connected with things like passes to the Airdrie Library and some other great supports in the community," said Jacob-Towes.

Every year, Community Links has a Supplies 4 Success program, which ensures children have the school supplies they need.

"The one program that is probably the best utilized is the Supplies 4 Success program. We partner with Staples, the programs been running for over 12 years, and we're able to supply backpacks and school supplies for students in grades 1 to 12."

Community Links also has bullying prevention services for those who are finding challenges with their peers.
