Safety will be top of mind for this year's edition of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.

That's according to officials with the Calgary Stampede who provided a Q&A session with more details on safety plans during the 10-day event.

Tickets for the Stampede will be only available online as a way to help limit capacity and monitor those in attendance.

The Stampede anticipates attendance per day will be roughly 50 per cent less than it would be in a normal year.

CEO Dana Peers provided some examples of how these protocols will be implemented and what the grounds will look like on any given day.

"We're limiting the number of things on the park, widening our aisles. There are approximately 25 per cent less content so we can create more space for people so they can feel safe and distanced."

Capacity is also being limited for those attending the Evening Grandstand show and rodeo. Volunteers and staff will be required to wear masks while visitors to the park will be encouraged to wear them, barring any changes to provincial or municipal mask by laws.
