The Calgary Flames travelled to Las Angeles to face the Kings last night without the talents of an injured Dillon Dube.

Dube had been injured in the game on Saturday against the Chicago Blackhawks following a particularly nasty hit that placed the rookie on concussion protocol.

However, even without the offence of the promising up-and-comer, the Flames took the shut-out win with a final score of 1-0.

David Rittich, the goaltender for the Flames, received high praise after closing the door on 21 shots.

Rittich, a Czech player who has only appeared in 30 games in the NHL, has won five of the six games he's started for Calgary.

Luckily, Rittich has been having the best season of his career so far while starting goaltender Mike Smith has been having his worst.

With the win against the Kings, the Flames have won five of their six games and are currently ranked second right behind the Vancouver Canucks.

Tonight the Flames take to the ice once more in "The Shark Tank" where they will face the San José Sharks, a team ranked directly below them in the division, at seven.
