The Airdrie Elite Midget Lightning are on a roll following a pair of weekend home-ice victories in the Alberta Female Hockey League.

On Friday night the Lightning snuck past the Rocky Mountain Raiders 4 - 3.

On Saturday Airdrie hosted the Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs and came away with a 3 - 1 win.

Maeve Van't Klooster, Madison Black, and Amy Fordyce scored the Lightning goals.

With the two wins, Airdrie moves closer to the leaders in the South Division of the AFHL, the Calgary Fire White.

The Lightning have 8 wins and 3 losses this season and trail the Fire White by just three points in the standings.

On Saturday the Lightning will travel to Lethbridge for an afternoon game against the Cyclones.
