It was a solid effort that fell just short for the Airdrie Lightning at the Provincial Midget 'B' Hockey Tournament in Springbank over the weekend.

Airdrie just missed out on yesterday's (March 24) final when they were blanked 3 - 0 by the Glenlake Hawks from Calgary.

The Lightning went through the round robin portion of the tourney with a 3 and 1 record, beating the SEERA Silverbacks from Edmonton 9 - 1, the Springbank Rockies 7 - 6 and Elk Point by a score of 7 - 2.

Their only round-robin loss came at the hands of the La Crete Lumberjacks 7 - 4.

Forward Zachary Cormier led the Lightning with four goals and six assists for 10 points.  Jagger Miller picked up five goals and four assists for a nine-point weekend.
