After a successful spring camp, the Airdrie CFR Bisons are getting ready for their offseason and building next season’s team.

Head Coach Dustin Taylor says this year’s spring camp was different than what they’ve done in the past.

“We had about 66 kids at Camp. We changed the format up from a traditional spring camp so we kind of saw all different formats that a kid would see in a game. We went into a 5 on 5 game. Did a 4 on 4 type of gameplay, some special teams, then ended with a 3 on 3 cross-ice tournament.”

Taylor says that they will hold their main camp in September where they hope to get a better look at their potential team for the 2018-2019 season.

For now, Taylor says he has one main focus for the next couple months.

“Most of it on my end has been touching base with potential returning players and seeing where they’re at with regards to their junior prospects. A big mandate of ours is to get kids off to the next level.”

Taylor says that they’ll also look into players from the Bantam and Midget AA ranks to help build their team for the 2018-2019 season.
