Airdrie's Ryan Zachary and Team Alberta have secured their spot in the volleyball semifinals at the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg.

This afternoon (August 10), Alberta faced Team Saskatchewan. The Albertans won decisively, taking three straight sets for the win.

Saskatchewan put up their toughest fight in set one, with Alberta winning only 25-20. The Albertans got rolling in set two, winning 25-16. They sealed the deal in the final set, holding Saskatchewan to only 9 points.

Zachary and Team Alberta will now face Team Quebec tomorrow. The semifinal game will take place at 4:30pm.
