Let's be honest, we all check our phones while sitting on the toilet, the days of reading a magazine or the back of the closest bottle to you is gone.

A new study was completed by a company called Initial washroom Hygiene and the results of the study are rather disturbing.

The study found on average mobile phones are seven times dirtier than a toilet seat.

It doesn't end there, phones that use leather protective casing have 17 times more germs than a toilet seat and phones with plastic cases are six times dirtier than a toilet seat.

The study used a handheld device that lit up surface germs and found that toilet seats on average had 220 germs while the average phone had 1,479.

You may want to get a new phone case or start bringing a book to your happy place.
