If you have some cool ideas on how to become the future of the beef industry, it's time to sign up for the annual Alberta Beef Producer Young Guns Award.  This year’s theme is "I am the future Alberta beef producer."  Along with the title, there are prizes to be won as well. 1st place wins $1,000, 2nd place wins $500 and 3rd lace  wins $250.

"It's an award for ages 8-21 who are involved in some way in the beef industry, whether they are on a ranch or have an active interest in the industry.  We're looking at having them talk about being the future of Alberta's beef industry," explains Lori Loree, Communications Manger.  "They can interpret that however they like, there is not a right or wrong answer. We're looking for creativity, we're looking for interesting stories and we're looking for fresh ideas."

If you think you have what it takes, you can submit an essay, video, blog, poster, social media campaign, etc. Go to www.albertabeef.org/consumers/contests and send in your form.  The deadline is June 1st, 2012.
