Last night (September 16), the Airdrie Xtreme opened their season with a strong showing against the Calgary Flames.

At the Ron Ebbesen Arena, the Xtreme managed to pull off a 1-0 win. Craig Armstrong propelled his team to the win with the game's only goal, assisted by Keagan Slaney and Brett Moravec.

Xtreme goaltender Nathan Airey was named first star of the game, while Armstrong was awarded the third star. Flames goalie Joshua McLoughlin was named the second star.

The Xtreme are back in action this afternoon against the Southeast Tigers at the Ron Ebbesen Arena. Puck drops at 1:30pm.
