To say the Airdrie Lightning Elite Women's hockey team had a busy weekend is an understatement after they played three games in three straight days.

Last Friday (November 24) the team had a tough go against the Rocky Mountain Raiders with Rachel Selent scoring the only goal for Airdrie in a 3-1 loss.

The team had little time to regroup as they traveled to Red Deer to take on the Chiefs the very next day. The Lightning made sure that their previous loss was only a memory as they shutout Red Deer 3-0. Emma Dixon had a goal and assist in the game, while Madison Black and Grace Seeley scored the other markers for the Lightning.

Their final game of the weekend was a grudge match with the Rocky Mountain Raiders on Sunday. Both teams battled to the bitter end with game going to a shootout to decide the winner. Sydney Norrie put home the shootout winner, giving the Lightning a 3-2 win over the Raiders.

With those two victories, the Lightning sit a little more comfortably in first place in the South Division with 20 points.

The Lightning are on the road for their next two games when they take on the Lethbridge Cyclones on December 2nd and the Calgary Fire-White on December 3rd.
