The Mountain View Regional Film Office (MVRFO), a partnership between Didsbury, Sundre and Mountain View County was recently awarded two national awards. 

Last week, in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) handed out its Marketing Canada Awards, in which the MVRFO won the Community Collaboration Award, as well as the Promotional Video category. 

Didsbury Mayor, Rhonda Hunter accepted the awards on behalf of the partnership, saying that what the MVRFO does is a prime example of where collaboration can take communities.

"The exposure we get from these unique, creative and innovative projects benefits the residents, businesses, and visitors in all our communities."

Sundre Mayor, Richard also echoed Mayor Huner's sentiments on the power of collaboration, 

Didsbury has become a go-to film location in Alberta recently, as major American T.V. series have been filmed there, including the fifth season of FX's Fargo. Several months ago, the town was also host to Hollywood stars Jude Law and Nicholas Hoult; the pair are part of the cast of the highly anticipated film, The Order.

The Promotional Video award showcased the local talent of photographer/videographer Kai Mrazik, who highlighted the benefits of filming in local communities. 

Alberta continues to be a magnet for noteworthy and fan-favourite films and series to be filmed in the province. Some of the most talked-about films and series include HBO's smash hit series The Last of UsGhostbusters: Afterlife, as well as Let Him Go, starring Yellowstone's leading star, Kevin Costner.
