The 2022 Siren's charity hockey game was held this past weekend on Saturday, which saw firefighters dominate scoring in the hockey game over the police, winning 13-4. But the real winners of course were the charity it was being held for. Just over $4000 in value was raised for the Airdrie 1st club Christmas Hamper program.

Two boxes that had been set up by the Airdrie 1st Club, one red and one blue box, allowed residents to pick which team they wanted to donate their unwrapped toys to. Team blue - the RCMP did in fact beat out Airdrie's firefighters in the toy donation drive. In a stroke of good luck off the ice, an RCMP constable who had won the 50/50 raffle prize draw, donated it back to the Airdrie 1st Club.

However, Andrew MacPherson, with the Airdrie Professional Firefighters Association reminded Airdronians that donation boxes are still set up in all three fire halls across the city, and donations will be accepted until December 3.
