It was a night that eight of the nine Canadians competing at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas would just as soon put behind them.

The large contingent of Canadians were virtually shutout of the winnings at last night's (December 9) third performance of the NFR.  "Virtually" since Jake Vold of Airdrie broke the losing streak.

Vold finished near the top of the bareback event for the third straight night by spurring his way to an 87 aboard the horse Spilled Perfume to take the third place money of $15,653.

That keeps Vold in third place in the world standings.  Unfortunately for him, the world bareback leader Tim O'Connell had a great night, marking 91.5 points to equal the arena record and finish first on the night.

The rest of the Canadians would like to push "delete" on their memories of the night, including Cochrane's Tanner Milan who finished out of the cash with a 4.9 second run in steer wrestling.
