Airdrie residents were treated to quite the spectacle Wednesday, thanks to the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.

The team flew over Calgary, Okotoks, Morley and Cochrane before making its way over the skies in Airdrie.

It's all part of Operation Inspiration, a tour that started last year to honour front line health care workers during the pandemic.

Unfortunately, the tour was put on hold following a tragic crash in Kamloops.

More than a year later, the Snowbirds were finally able to complete their mission and bring some much-needed joy to those in Airdrie and the surrounding areas.

Airdronians flooded to social media to share their best photos and videos of the fly-by.
