Sometime between Friday, August 19 and Sunday, August 21, someone caused extensive damage to the St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church now under construction northeast of CrossIron Mills.

Constable Rob Frizzell says the culprits wrecked the drywall in several rooms and smashed out numerous windows.

The estimated damage to the church is approximately $25,000. Police are not considering this a hate crime but are conducting an ongoing investigation.
