UPDATE

June 19 - Trinity, the three-legged dog who had escaped from the yard at her foster family's home, has been found and is on her way back home.

Volunteers from the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS) had discovered the area where Trinity was hanging out and were able to catch her using a humane animal trap on the morning of June 18. She was spotted by a landowner near Beiseker on Friday, June 15. AARCS was able to determine that her large incision was healing well and she seemed to be in good overall health.

This is one very determined, lucky and feisty girl!

Background

The Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS) is hoping someone will spot Trinity, the three-legged dog they rescued from a leg hold trap between Red Deer and Edmonton last month. Trinity had surgery to remove her mangled front leg on May 29 but managed to escape from the yard at her foster home in Irricana on June 1.

Deanna Thompson, executive director of AARCS, says Trinity is unlikely to wonder into town and that people should be on the lookout for her in rural areas - she could wonder into a farm yard, for instance. The group investigated a sighting of the approximately two year-old dog near Irricana on Sunday but so far, haven't been able to locate her.

Thompson says Trinity is quite skittish, making capturing her difficult.

If you spot Trinity, please call Thompson immediately at (403) 869-4694 or Jessica O'Hare at (403) 701-2336.
