Beginning on Friday, September 1, there will be several changes in pricing for city services. Genesis Place monthly passes, drop-in use and punch card fees will be increasing. However, increased transit fees will also be introduced on Friday.

According to the City of Airdrie, the following transit fees will be increased. 

  • Cash (one-way fare) for:
    • Hello-To-Go and local service will cost $2.90 - an increase of five cents
    • Route 900 will cost $5.30 - an increase of five cents
  • Monthly Pass - Youth/Student (6 - 25 years old) for:
    • Hello-To-Go and local service will cost $48.75 - an increase of $16.25. Within the span of a year, a youth will spend close to $200 more on monthly passes.
    • Route 900 will cost $63.00 - an increase of $1.40
  • Monthly Pass for Senior(s) (65+ years old) for:
    • Hello-To-Go and local service will cost $43.15 - an increase of $5.65. Within the span of a year, a senior will spend close to $70 more on monthly passes.
    • Route 900 will cost $63.00 - an increase of $1.40

Genesis Place fees will also be increasing this Friday. Genesis Place currently offers a family pass rate that includes up to two adults and all children in the household under the age of 18 years. The current price for a drop-in is $30, while a punch card, which is 10 visits is priced at $270. The continuous monthly pass is priced at $136.25 per month.

The new adult family pass rate will include one adult and all children in the household under the age of 18 years. Come September 1, one adult family will be priced at $30.25 for a drop-in, $272.25 for 10 visits, or $102.50 per month for a continuous monthly pass.

A two-family adult pass rate in September will be $32 for a drop-in, $288 for 10 visits, or $142.25 per month for a continuous monthly pass.

Other price changes come this fall include:

  • Admission rates for youth
  • Admission rates for students 
  • Seniors
  • Veterans

Genesis Place pool as well as the aquatics area will continue to be closed until September 9 due to maintenance. The City clarified that for continuous pass holders, there will be an option to temporarily pause their facility pass for these three weeks, should they choose.

"Pausing a pass for three weeks pauses access to all facility amenities. Passes temporarily paused for the pool and aquatics maintenance closure will automatically restart on reopening on September 9."
