Two suspects in custody following copper wire theft

Cochrane RCMP have two suspects in custody following a copper wire theft at a Telus Construction site on Wednesday.

Police were dispatched to the scene along Township Road 250 near Range Road 33.

Upon arrival, RCMP found two men attempting to flee the site on foot.

The RCMP Police Dog Service was called in to assist and track the suspects where they found the two men and took them into custody.

Both suspects are awaiting bail hearings while in custody and are facing charges of possession of stolen property, possession of break and enter instruments, mischief to property, possession of controlled substances (methamphetamine), and other related charges under the Traffic Safety Act.

The names of the suspects have not been released until the information has been sworn before the courts.
