On Wednesday afternoon, Sundre RCMP advised that they cleared the scene on Center Street after a violent assault occurred in the town earlier on Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, Mounties said that they would be on the scene for the better part of the day, continuing their investigation. 

Police were called on Tuesday afternoon after reports of a serious assault. As a result of the incident, two individuals were injured, with one person being transported via STARS ambulance to a Calgary hospital; while the other was transported via ambulance to a hospital.

On Tuesday afternoon, Sundre RCMP warned the public of a heavy police presence in the area and asked that residents stay away from the area, however, police have said that there is no risk to the public.
