Anyone out there remember the old TV show "Eight Is Enough?"

No one currently playing with the Airdrie Thunder was even born when that show had it's four year run on television, but last night (November 16) they brought back memories of it as eight proved to certainly be enough.

Airdrie got goals from eight different players and pounded the Lomond Lakers 8 - 1 in a Heritage Junior Hockey League game played in Vulcan.

Goals for the Thunder came off the sticks of Kory Zinck, Tyler Petrie, Cody Brodhagen, Dane Bennett-Nimijean, Jordan McConnell, Arlin Schell, Carson McGinnis, and Tristan Paquette.

"All four lines and all six D played really well," explained Thunder Head Coach Derek Stamp.  "We were able to roll through our lines for the most part."

Special teams played a big part in last night's win as the Thunder ran into some penalty problems early on but managed to kill them off without allowing a goal.  The Thunder also scored five times on the powerplay themselves.

The Thunder improved their first place, Northern Division record to 13 - 4 and 0.

The second-place Mountainview Colts kept pace last night by upending the Ponoka Stampeders 7 - 3.

Airdrie sees their next action at home in the Ron Ebbesen Arena on Friday night at 8:00 pm when they entertain the Stettler Lightning.
