Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a frost advisory for Airdrie and the surrounding area.

"Clearing skies overnight, combined with a cold airmass, will give temperatures near or below zero. Patchy frost is expected."

Frost may damage some crops in frost-prone areas so make sure you cover the plants that need it to protect them.

Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.

The advisory is also in effect for Cochrane, Olds, and Sundre.

More frost advisories might be issued later this week as some overnight lows are near the zero-degree range.
