With Thanksgiving now in the past, the Airdrie Foodbank is looking forward to Christmas time.

Christine Taylor, Marketing Communication Manager for the Airdrie Food Bank, mentioned they had a busy Thanksgiving.

“We are seeing numbers that we've never seen before the Friday before Thanksgiving, we had record numbers of over 200 people in one day.”

According to Taylor, the need for everything is up, while the donations are down.

“We're up 38 per cent from last year of pantry visits. All of our numbers are up and our donations are down. We understand it is difficult and groceries are so expensive. So, we're just asking if you can help, please do, and if you need help, we are here for you.”

Taylor finished off by saying when she went down to the warehouse, she saw one jar of jam.

With Christmas around the corner and the Airdrie Food Bank predicting the need this year to be larger than ever seen before, please feel free to donate in any possible way.
