According to the provincial government, diploma exams will be administered for the rest of the school year, starting in April, June and August.

On Monday, Education Minister Adriana LaGrange confirmed the news on her Twitter account.

Students are scheduled to write diplomas Diploma Exams are going ahead

Students who wanted to rewrite their diploma exam in January 2022, but who are not taking the course, are eligible to register for a rewrite exam this month.

Those students who have received an exemption and retake instruction in a diploma exam course, “must write the diploma exam to acquire a final official mark associated with the new school-awarded mark. Exemptions are not carried forward.”

Retroactive exemptions are not available to students who took diploma exams earlier this school year or in previous school years.

According to the province’s website, “All fees paid for the January 2022 diploma exams will be refunded. Refunds will be issued in March 2022.”

Due to learning disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the weighting of diploma exams was temporarily reduced to 10 per cent for the 2021/22 school year only.
