The Farmers Almanac has released its summer predictions for the 2024 summer and if you like the sun with the occasional storm, you might enjoy the summer months

"Temperatures will be warm and humid in most areas, reminding Canadians of last year’s summer weather," stated the Almanac.

It also mentioned the prairies will experience sizzling hot temperatures, with the heat occasionally tempered by a shower or gusty thunderstorm.

On Canada Day, we will see clear and warmer weather for the holiday all across the prairies. Come Labour Day, the Airdrie area could see unsettled conditions. The summer season officially starts Thursday, June 21.

The Almanac has also predicted the rest of this month of the Airdrie area. From now until May 15, Airdronians can expect rainy periods with cooler temperatures. Environment and Climate Change Canada is also forecasting Airdrie to see some rain this week.

From May 16-22 the Almanac predicts it will be sunny and mild while May 23-31 will be the return of cooler temperatures and a chance of rain.

The Alberta government is preparing for a warm summer and has recently unveiled their 2024 Drought Response Plan.
