A local swimmer stole the show at an international competition last weekend.

15 year old Alex Sharpe took part in the Can Am Para Swim Championships in Windsor, Ontario.

The Nose Creek swimmer fought hard and came away with two gold medals in the 400 metre freestyle and 100 metre breaststroke.

Sharpe also captured two silvers in the 100 metre backstroke and 100 metre freestyle, and two bronze medals in the 50 metre freestyle and butterfly races.

On the last day of the competition, Sharpe had the privilege of racing with one of the Canadian relay teams, who finished 4th.

Sharpe will have to wait to see if his outstanding performance will earn him a spot for the Canada Games when that roster is announced in June.
